People are increasingly interested in reading promotion leaflets
Since 2009 the influence of promotions has increased greatly. According to GfK Hungária Shopping Monitor 2011, 58 percent of those asked gather information from promotion leaflets found in their mailbox. From those who receive leaflets daily 16 percent throw them away without reading, 61 percent flip them through and every fourth person buys something based on the information. Most promotion leaflets are issued by discount stores, followed by hypermarkets; in 2010 these leaflets had fewer pages and advertised fewer products than in 2009 – reports GfK Leaflet Monitor 2011. Shoppers mostly followed the promotion of basic food products, together with milks and dairy products, meat and meat products.
