Hungarians increasingly opt for domestic products
Over the recent years, Hungarians have been increasingly buying domestic products because they realised this helps domestic companies and Hungarian goods are generally of good value.
A recent survey by market research
company TGI showed that in a comparison of six European countries including the
Czech Republic, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia, only the
Poles are more determined to buy domestic goods than the Hungarians.
As many as 23 percent of Hungarians
said they clearly agreed with the statement that whenever they could, they
would opt for Hungarian goods. An additional 20 percent said the statement was
more true than not. In Poland, 24 percent said they clearly agreed with the
statement and an additional 28 percent said it was more true than not.
At the same time, 11 percent of
Czech consumers said they clearly agreed with the above statement followed by
10 percent of German consumers and 9 percent of British consumers.
