Chinese pig import is increasing
China’s pork import increased significantly in June. Although the Asian country is the world’s leading producer of pork, the herd is decimated by swine fever – origo wrote.
Beijing customs authority announced on Tuesday that the Asian country had imported 160 thousand 467 tons of pork, up 62.8 percent, compared to a year before.
China bought 818 thousand 703 tons of pork overseas this year, which is a 26.3 percent year-over-year increase. (origo.hu)
