The importance of digital content in agricultural investment applications is increasing
Farming using data-based and precision technologies is inevitable for all farmers who want to appear on the market with products and goods in which international competition is global and prices are shaped by external and non-Hungarian market processes – said Zsolt Feldman, who started in two weeks at a press conference held before the PREGA Conference.
The Secretary of State responsible for agriculture and rural development of the Ministry of Agriculture emphasized at the event held on the 200-hectare Breier Farm in Pomáz, which uses precision and sustainable production solutions: among the players in the economy, the farmers were perhaps the most spectacularly faced with the simultaneous variability and unpredictability of environmental, economic and market conditions. In order to stay afloat, a high degree of awareness is necessary, the ability to renew, thoughtful and responsible entrepreneurial decisions are valued. In agriculture, production and economic issues, adaptation to climate change and sustainability regulations must be taken into account at the same time.
Adaptation strategies must be presented so that all farmers can see the possible alternatives
Zsolt Feldman indicated that during the preparation of the new investment calls for tenders to be announced in 2024 based on the Strategic Plan of the Common Agricultural Policy, they are working to evaluate the digital content and soundness of the projects with a much greater emphasis than before. In addition, it is an important intention that during the tenders, as few future commitments as possible are decided when evaluating each project, but rather that as many objective, measurable results as possible, which can be verified with documents available in existing databases, count during the evaluation. During the preparation of the new call to help precision farming, which will be announced in the fall, the Ministry of Agriculture will make use of the tender experience so far, but the professional content announced and known in 2021 may change in many aspects. During the preparatory work, we strive to create a tender that flexibly adapts to the needs of the applicants, and at the same time effectively serves the digital transition of agricultural farms – said the state secretary.
