NKFH: DANONE has recalled Milumil 3 Junior infant formula

Due to microbiological non-compliance and the presence of cereulid toxin, DANONE Hungary Ltd. has recalled and withdrawn Milumil 3 Junior breast milk supplement formulas in 500, 1000 and 1500 gram packages from consumers and from circulation – the National Trade and Consumer Protection Authority (NKFH) told MTI on Friday. At the same time, Danone drew attention to the fact that a toxin was detected in one of the product’s ingredients; The recall was made as a precaution, the company’s infant formulas are safe.

It was recalled that DANONE Hungary Kft. voluntarily initiated a consumer recall of infant formula on February 5th as a precautionary measure, as a microbiological non-conformity, cereulid toxin, was detected in one of the ingredients of the products.

It was highlighted that Danone Hungary Kft., in response to an official request, is recalling certain items of the Milumil 3 Junior product from consumers as a precautionary measure.

The details of the affected products are as follows:

    Best before dates: 26.07.2026; 26.12.2026
  • Product name: Milumil 3 Junior breast milk supplement, 1000g
    Packaging: 1000g
    Best before dates: 07.10.2026; 02.01.2027

Other production lots are not affected by the recall!

DANONE Hungary Kft., in cooperation with the National Trade and Consumer Protection Authority, withdrew the affected lots from circulation and recalled them from consumers. The measures taken by the company, as well as the further fate of the recalled products (destruction or removal), are being monitored by the authority, the NKFH statement reads.

DANONE Hungary Kft. told MTI on Friday that cereulid toxin had been identified in an ingredient of the product. They stressed that this was entirely a precautionary measure, that Danone’s infant formula products are safe, and that both routine inspections and targeted additional tests conducted in view of the industry situation confirmed this.
