NKFH: Chinese-made children’s chopsticks recalled from consumers
Chinese-made children’s chopsticks have been withdrawn from circulation and recalled from consumers due to an unauthorized ingredient – the National Trade and Consumer Protection Authority (NKFH) told MTI on Friday.
The authority requests that if anyone has purchased the 6094071, 6094072, 6094073, 6094074, 6094075, 6094076, 6094077, imported from China by the Dutch company Emro Aziatica B.V., chopsticks with article number 6094078, and the product is still in your possession, do not use it any longer.
According to the announcement, based on a notification received through the European Union’s Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed Safety (RASFF), during an official inspection, formaldehyde and melamine leaching exceeding the limit value were measured from these Chinese-made children’s chopsticks. The products were also placed on the market in Hungary.
The National Trade and Consumer Protection Authority has contacted the companies concerned, and the companies, in cooperation with the NKFH, will take the necessary measures within their own competence: the affected items will be withdrawn from circulation and recalled from consumers. The authority monitors the measures taken by the companies and the further fate of the recalled products (destruction or removal).
