NKFH: crayfish tails contaminated with metal fragments have been recalled from circulation
Crayfish tails contaminated with metal fragments have been recalled from the market, the National Trade and Consumer Protection Authority (NKFH) told MTI on Wednesday.
Based on a notification received through the EU’s Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF), foreign matter and metal fragments were identified in crab tails produced in China. The product also reached Hungary through a German distributor, they said.
The name of the affected product is Louisiana river crayfish tails, 1 kilogram packaging, lot number TZO 24061, and Blue brand. They ask that anyone who has purchased a product with these identifiers not consume it.
The NKFH contacted the affected company, Fishmarket Kereskedőház Kft., without delay. The company, in cooperation with the NKFH, and with the health protection of consumers in mind, immediately took the necessary measures within its own jurisdiction and ensured that the affected item was recalled from consumers. The measures taken by the company and the further fate, destruction or removal of the recalled products are monitored by the authority.
