The importer, in cooperation with the National Trade and Consumer Protection Authority (NKFH), has withdrawn the Summer Pops Strawberry Flavour lollipops from the Netherlands from the market because sensory differences were observed in the product during the official inspection, the NKFH told MTI on Tuesday.

According to the information, the authority took action based on a notification received through the European Union’s Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) in the case of the product that arrived in Hungary through the Dutch importer. It was determined that a rancid taste can be experienced during consumption of the product and a slight burning sensation may occur on the tongue.

The announcement states that the 80 g Summer Pops Strawberry Flavour lollipops recalled from the market have a best-before date of May 7, 2026, batch number LIP0524B, the product is manufactured by the Dutch Becky’s B.v. and imported by BAU-TRANS 2000 Kft.

In its announcement, the authority requests that anyone who has purchased and still has the recalled product with the described batch identifier not consume it.

The authority will monitor the measures taken by the company and the further fate of the recalled products, it was announced.
