Problems in the milk sector

Major milking developments would be needed in the cattle sector in Vas county, to provide high quality raw materials, but there is not enough money to invest – Lukács Zoltán, Agriculture supervisor of Vas County’s Government Office told MTI.

Cost of milk production is significantly higher than the purchase price of 92-93 HUF per liter. The milk production would be profitable between 130-140 HUF per liter price. The large farms maintain their dairy livestock with surplus revenues achieved in other sectors. (MTI)
