NGM: no specific proposal arrived to reduce the VAT on basic foods
No specific proposal has arrived yet to the National Economy Ministry (NGM) on the reduction of theVAT on basic foodstuffs – the NGM informed MTI on Monday.
The Hungarian regulations in force continues to list the basic food items underreduced VAT (Value Added Tax) rate. For example, milk, milk products – unless the mother's milk – or flavored milk are falling under the 18 percent tax rate. In addition, grain, flour, starch or products using milk are also under the effect of the law. (MTI)
