NGM: Budget deficit may remain below 5 percent next year as well
The budget deficit may remain below 5 percent in 2026, and the public debt may remain at 73.5 percent of GDP, said the State Secretary for Public Finance of the Ministry of National Economy (NGM) at the ministry’s press conference in Budapest on Tuesday.
According to Kornél Kisgergely’s assessment, the Hungarian budget is stable and safe, which is also confirmed by the fact that the credit rating agencies have confirmed Hungary’s investment-grade rating.
Mihály Hoffmann, the State Debt The Chairman and CEO of the Management Center (ÁKK) believes that the debt management markets are stable, yields and spreads did not cause any surprises this year, and issuance can be reduced in 2026.
