Netrisk: more people took out travel insurance in the first quarter
According to this year’s Netrisk data, Hungarians signed 72,000 travel insurance contracts in the first quarter, 13 percent more than a year earlier.
The average fee was HUF 10,500, which is a 9 percent increase compared to HUF 9,600 in the same period of the previous year, Netrisk.hu told MTI on Friday.
According to travel insurance data from Netrisk, Hungarians mostly travel on long weekends – such as Pentecost – to visit the city. Last year at Whitsun, the cities in Italy, Austria and Germany were the most popular. Visitors abroad took out travel insurance for an average of 5 days for HUF 8,800 per person. Less than half of the passengers, 47 percent, traveled abroad by car and 39 percent by plane.
