Netrisk: Hungarians don’t ski at home
66 percent of tourists who took out travel insurance for skiing between the end of November 2023 and the beginning of January 2024 chose Austria, Slovakia’s share was 14 percent, while Poland’s was 7 percent – according to Netrisk’s latest compilation.
According to the announcement sent to MTI on Wednesday, the average insurance premium exceeds HUF 10,000.
2 and 3 percent of tourists who took out travel insurance for skiing between the end of November 2023 and the beginning of January 2024 chose Slovenia and Italy. So far this season, the people involved have taken out travel insurance for an average of 5 days. Most people took out their insurance 1 day before the trip.
Netrisk’s research also revealed where those who did not choose a ski resort as their destination traveled. Austria also leads in this comparison, with a rate of 20 percent. It is followed by Romania with 13 percent. Italy, Poland, Spain and Germany finished almost in a tie for third place with a share of 10 percent each. However, these travelers spent a longer period abroad than skiers, almost 8 days on average.
