Still no final decision on food VAT
There is still no final decision on the reduction of the VAT on basic foodstuffs – the National Economy Ministry (NGM) informed Népszabadság.
The government not yet answered to the proposal of a lobby group bringing together the dominant firms of the domestic food industry. The proposal aimed to the tenper cent reduction of VAT on basic foodstuffs – wrote Népszabadság on Wednesday.
According to sources from the food industry, the NGM does not want to carry out a VAT rate cut yet, because they did not dare to risk not to meet the deficit target for this year. (MTI)
