International Health Weeks – dm initiative for the health of employees in 14 countries
The dm concern organized international Health Weeks between October 9 and November 10 for more than 71,600 of its employees across Europe. In each of the 14 countries where dm stores are present, the colleagues drew each other’s attention to the importance of health care with various presentations and community programs. The motto of the initiative: My way to a healthier life. As a result of a cross-border movement challenge, the entire dm concern donated around 126,500 euros to sustainable and social projects in 14 countries in exchange for the active hours spent by employees moving.
For the first time in the history of dm drogerie markt, the company implemented an international initiative for employees at the entire concern level, spanning all 14 countries: between October and November, more than 71,600 employees took part in the 25-day series of programs to strengthen their physical, mental and social health. During the health weeks, topics such as sleep, proper nutrition, and physical exercises supporting standing and sitting activities were discussed, in order to ensure that employees receive a lot of positive energy in their daily work. The program was supplemented by 68 webinars, 25 expert lectures and 23 podcast episodes.
“We would like to draw attention to the importance of health and inspire employees to develop healthy habits”
– summarizes the goal behind the initiative, Petra Mathi-Kogelnik, managing director of the dm concern’s Austrian group.
