The Szent András Brewery has won international awards for its products
The Szent András Sörfózde in Békésszentandras is constantly developing, last year they came up with a new product, cider, which recently won a gold medal among the Hungarian competitors at a prestigious competition in the Czech Republic, the brewery announced on Thursday to MTI.
At the same international beer competition, the brewery’s beer, Almás Rétes pastry ale, made with real apples, cinnamon and Ugandan vanilla, was awarded a silver medal. Nearly 1,200 beers from more than 200 breweries from the Czech Republic to Spain competed in 39 categories.
The cider was made jointly with Teacher’s Cider from Szentes, entirely from freshly pressed apples, i.e. not from concentrate, with natural fermentation.
In response to MTI’s question, they stated in writing that “while the beer revolution in the field of beer was particularly successful in distributing higher-quality products than before, the domestic cider market lacks such changes.” In the case of related products (cider, hops soda), the brewery wants to “be at the head of a process that spreads higher product quality”.
