Germany: Ritter Sport launches new chocolate from January
The confectionery manufacturer Ritter wants to drive its business forward with a new product. It is to be a so-called large chocolate bar with very special contents, as Lebensmittel Zeitung reports. The product, called “Duo”, will reportedly be available from January 2024.
Large bars are chocolate bars weighing more than 100 grams. Ritter, which has a unique selling point with its square Ritter Sport bars, already offers large 250 gram squares.
The new thing about the “Duo” large bars will be the contents, the newspaper writes. For the first time, two flavours will be combined in one bar. “We have developed eight completely new recipes for our four Duo bars,” Sven Hoffmann, Head of Innovation at Ritter explained to Lebensmittelzeitung.
30 per cent of the German market is dominated by large bars
With Duo, Ritter wants to reach new customer groups and is particularly focusing on the younger target group, according to Hoffmann.
“Duo is one of the company’s main focuses for the coming year,” Hoffmann said.
In support of the product launch, he announced a comprehensive brand campaign, too.
