German soya drink recall in Hungary and Europe
German organic drinks manufacturer Natumi has withdrawn its chocolate soya drink from stores in Hungary and across Europe after the product was found to contain the guar gum additive.
The product was examined by German authorities, and EU's
Food Security Alert System warned Hungary that Natumi Soyadrink Schoko may
contain the toxic dioxin. Hungarian distributor Herba Hungary's website
confirms the finding but the distributor also announced that the product is not
dangerous to health, due to the small quantity of tainted additive used during
production. The distributor asks costumers not to consume drinks expiring on
January 14, 2008.
