German politicians call for slashing taxes on plant-based milks
In Germany cow’s milk is taxed at a lower rate than milk substitutes, and the SPD and the Greens wish to change this.

The two political parties want to reduce the VAT on milk substitutes to the level of the VAT on cow’s milk, preferably in the short term, already during the negotiations on the annual tax laws that will come into effect on 1 January 2024. //
