German bus tourism: Hungary is the tenth most popular destination
In the German economy, bus tourism has a very important role. Its annual turnover is 10.5 billion euros and employs 220,000 people.
Annually 5.8 million people use buses during their holidays, while the number of short bus trips is between  12 to 15 million. According to the survey of the German Chamber of Commerce, 58.3 percent of people using bus tourism is the guests over 60 mostly retirees and mostly women.
Of course, the majority of bus journeys (one-third) is realized in Germany. Hungary has a 2 percent stake, and is the 10th among the most popular bus trip destinations. (turizmusonline.hu)
