German VAT in restaurants: it is not the same to eat sitting or standing
On the basis of a German court decision, the VAT of restaurants offering sstanding consumption would be re-regulated.
The crucial aspect of the regulation will be how the guests will consume the meal: by standing or sitting.
The reduced VAT rate of 7 percent could be only applied if the customer consume by standing. The same meal's VAT rate would be 19 percent if the guest eats it sitting by a table. The 7 percent VAT was introduced for social reasons – reports Világgazdaság Online.
