Pensioner food vouchers are not lost in the event of unsuccessful delivery
According to the Government Information Center (KTK), food vouchers intended for pensioners will not be lost even if the postal delivery is unsuccessful the first time. In such cases, the vouchers will be available for collection at the post office within ten working days, based on the notification.
The paper-based pensioner food vouchers with a total value of 30 thousand forints will be delivered by Magyar Posta in the fall, with the delivery deadline being October 15, 2025. The vouchers will be delivered to the beneficiaries in various denominations – three 5,000 forints, three 3,000 forints, two 2,000 forints and two 1,000 forints. They can be used until December 31, 2025, in rural convenience stores, larger supermarket chains, markets and primary producers.
The KTK emphasized that the news published in the press about the loss of the voucher is misleading. In accordance with postal practice, a notification of receipt is left, and the document can be collected at any post office within the designated deadline. However, it is important that the vouchers can only be collected by the entitled person, no one else is entitled to receive them, even if the entitled person has died in the meantime.
Those who received old-age, widow’s, parental or accident dependent pension, orphan’s benefit or disability benefit in July 2025 are entitled to the voucher. The government aims to provide targeted support to pensioners as part of its action against inflationary pressure and unjustified price increases.
