An unexpected result: the lack of snow has boosted domestic tourism

The snow-free winter brought traveling mood. Hungarians are traveling more because of the warm, sunny winter weather. One of the most popular websites selling discounted hotel packages, the NeMaradjLe.hu experienced a 20 percent increase in the beginning of January compared to last January.

“Last year was strong, but this year is better. Probably because of the good weather and the lack of snowfall the figures show a 20 percent growth,” – Szalay Ákos, one of the owners of the company told, who sees the growth in travel in good road conditions and lots of sunshine.
