Poultry meat prices did not change significantly
According to AKI PÁIR data, the producer price of live weight chicken for slaughter in Hungary increased by 3.8 percent to 425.9 forints/kilogram in the first two weeks of 2025 compared to the same period of the previous year, while that of turkey for slaughter did not change significantly, at 594.2 forints/kilogram in the same period.

The processing sales price of chicken breast fillet was 1888.8 forints/kilogram (+11.6 percent), chicken breast with bone was 1177.9 forints/kilogram (+7.0 percent), and the price of chicken breast (total) was 1807.5 forints/kilogram (+8.2 percent) in the observed period. According to European Commission data, the EU average price of whole chicken was 279 euros/100 kilograms in the first two weeks of 2025, which exceeded the previous year by almost 6 percent.
