The GDP of the Union and the Eurozone remained unchanged in the first quarter
The gross domestic product (GDP) in this year's first quarter, remained unchanged, compared to the previous quarter in the EU and in the Eurozone – in accordance with the expectations – reports Eurostat.
Compared to first quarter of 2011, a 0.1 percent decline occurred in the Eurozone, while in the 27-member EU a 0.1 percent GDP increase was observed.
In the fourth quarter of last year, GDP decreased by 0.3 percent in both the EU and the Eurozone, compared to the previous quarter. Compared to the previous year, GDP increased by 0.7 percent in the Eurozone and by 0.8 percent in the EU. (MTI)
