Consumer confidence in the euro area did not change in January
Consumers’ confidence in the euro area and in the European Union remained unchanged in January -according to a survey by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs (DG ECFIN).
According to preliminary results released on Thursday, the confidence index remained at the same level as December, minus 8.1 points in the eurozone. Analysts expected an improvement of minus 7.8 points for January.
In the 28 Member States of the European Union, the Consumer Confidence Index stagnated at minus 7.0 points. (MTI)
