Fines imposed on a quarter of businesses in the Lake Balaton region
In July the inspectors of the National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV) found some kind of irregularity at the premises of every fourth business in the Lake Balaton region. It seems that some restaurant owners and retailers haven’t realised it yet that by using the data transmitted by online cash registers, the authorities can easily
pick out those businesses which realise lower sales than their competitors. NAV performed nearly 3,000 inspections on the two sides of the lake. //
