No GMO food found
The authorities tested 146, mainly rice, corn, soy and flax containing products, but could not find any food that does not meet the GM specifications.
The laboratories of the National Food Chain Safety Office (NÉBIH) tested a total of 146 food items: rice, corn, soy and flax containing products.
Fazekas Sándor, Rural Development Minister ordered a proactive investigation early March. The agency kept tight controls at warehouses and at the chain of stores, with reassuring results.
The tests of GMO foods will not stop, the authorities carry out an annual 350 to 400 samples.
