Domestic producers do not expect an increase in egg prices as Easter approaches. As the result of the European overproduction, the cheap imports and the black market the season started with extremely depressed prices, and the Easter holidays will not bring significant changes to the industry – Végh László, the president of the Hungarian Laying Stocks Breeders and Egg Producers Association and CEO of the CEO told MTI.
Végh László told that the domestic producers can sell the medium-sized eggs afor 18-20 HUF per piece, while the smaller ones can be sold for 3-4 HUF cheaper. The domestic egg market collapsed after Christmas, stocks are considerable, the price depression formed in January is not expected to change during the Easter season – he added. (MTI)
