The long-awaited rain does not bring too much benefits
The rain soaking half of the country did not bring too much benefits to agriculture, said Vancsura József, president of the National Association of Grain Producers.
We learned that where it is worth to harvest corn, the harvest is close to finish. In most of the farms, machines will head towards sunflower plates soon.
It was also said that rain is good for sugar beet. In Hungary’s only sugar factory in Kaposvár processing begins in late September.
Where 10 millimeters more rain fell, farmers quickly begin the sowing of rape, because this amount of water is enough to strengthen this tiny plant. (by our colleague)
