Red sludge did not cause damages in the Somlo wine region
Some wine farmer's claims are fake that the red sludge caused damages to the Somlo wine region. The cientific studies prove that the disaster had no impact on the vineyards – told Somogyi Lajos, hill judge to MTI on Tuesday.
According to the soil and leaf tests; the level of heavy metals and toxic level is much below the permissible limits in the wine region. Differences cannot be detected between the pre-disaster samples, from 2009, and the samples that were taken after the disaster – said Somogyi Lajos. According to the leaf test results, and wine tests no pollutants were detected in the Somló wine region. (MTI)
