British retail sales did not increase
Contrary to expectations, August retail sales stagnated in England, after the customers held back their consumption, because of the rising unemployment rate.
The retail trade has stagnated in August, after the revised expansion of July. The prior analysts expectations were 0.1-0.2 percent. On an annual basis, sales decreased by 2.1 percent. The non-food purchases decreased by 0.6 percent, during the month, mainly concerning on the clothing products, while food sales increased by 0.7 percent – reports privátbankár.hu.
