Lidl’s retired customers did not like self-service checkouts
Although self-service checkouts are a convenience for many, some customers, especially the elderly, prefer to pay in person. Up until now, almost only self-service cash registers operated in Lidl on Lövölde tér, but the situation was changed at the request of pensioners.
“The old system should not have been changed. At the new cash registers, you have to bend down a lot, it’s inconvenient, and it’s hard to find what you’re looking for. I have a bank card, but I don’t like to use it”
an older customer told rtl.hu.
The report also revealed that young customers were happy with the innovation, but due to the dissatisfaction of pensioners, the VI. the district municipality also intervened in the settlement of the traditional checkout points.
