Russia do not need poultry imports
Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said that Russia will not need poultry imports in 2011. Russia’s poultry production has already increased by 70 percent, while pork production by 39 percent.
According to Putin, Russia will not need imports in the forthcoming years. He added that the Russian veterinarian had often had doubts over the processing, transporting and storing of the imported meat.
Bárány László, President of the Hungarian Poultry Product Council (BTT) said, that Hungary’s poultry exports to Russia is not significant, does not reach one thousand ton per year. This quantity is less than 0.5 percent of the production in Hungary. Thus, the Russian action does not substantially affect Hungary – reports szabadfold.hu.
