Bad Christmas for British retail
The British retail sales in last December, increased less than expected, mainly due to price increases. According to the Statistical Office; sales rose by 0.3 percent last month.
Experts expected much more dynamic increase, approximately a 1.1 percent growth. On an annual basis, 2.1 percent expansion was measured instead of the expected 3 percent. Since 1998, this is the worst December growth data.
In the retail prices the past nine months’greatest increase was measured. It is 1.2 percent higher in value, compared to the same period of last year – reports tozsdeforum.hu.
