No reduction in commercial consumption in the first quarter 2012
According to the raw (no seasonal and calendary effects are adjusted) datas of the Central Statistical Office (KSH), commercial consumption did not decrease in the first three months of the year.
This means that the housewives took home the same quantity (in pieces, pounds, liters), compared to a year earlier.
Previously, the dealers projected shrinkage for the first half of 2012 so the datas of the KSH is a surprise in the light of the GDP and in the decline of real wages.
In the first three months of 2012, Hungarians spent 821 billion HUF on food (a year ago only 753 billion HUF, 68 billion less). In terms of the total retail trade costumers spent a total of 1759 billion HUF, compared to last year's 1,631 billion HUF. The difference is 128 billion HUF.
