The Body Shop is no longer 100% vegan

The Body Shop can no longer call itself a 100% vegan brand, the British company confirmed, less than two years after becoming the first global beauty company to offer exclusively vegan-certified products.

In August 2025, The Body Shop informed The Vegan Society that some of its products would once again contain non‑vegan ingredients, such as beeswax and honey

Although no official announcement or communication has been made, the company has updated its marketing materials and product descriptions. All Bodyshop products are vegetarian and cruelty-free, and most of them are still vegan, but Spa of the World Kukui body lotion and hemp-based Hand Protector hand cream contain beeswax.
