The poultry industry is expanding- Russia may become self-sufficient

In Hungary, the amount of purchased chicken for cutting increased by 21 percent its producer price was 5 percent higher in the first 20 weeks of 2012, compared to the year before.

According to the recent report of the Agricultural Research Institute, the domestic sales of chicken meat increased by 28 percent over the same period of the last year. The processor selling price of whole chicken, decreased to 462 HUF to about 450 HUF per kilo  while the price of chicken breast fillet increased to 942 HUF, by 5 percent.

According to the datas of the Russian Poultry Breeders' Association (Rosptitsesoyuz) and the Russian Federal Statistics Office (Rosstat) Russia’s first quarter poultry meat production increased by 21 percent to 826 thousand tons compared with a year earlier. Until the end of the year, poultry meat production in the country may expand by 250 thousand tons. (by our colleague)
