Beekeepers expect a difficult season
Bross Péter, president of the Hungarian National Beekeeping Association (OMME) told Magyar Nemzet that although we are at the very beginning of the season, it can already be seen that the year can be considered abnormal in several respects.
The specialist highlighted the problems that are already visible: the spring came very early, so the vegetation has started, and the drought was overwhelming. Due to the early spring, our most important domestic plant for the production of honey, the flower bud of the acacia, has already sprouted, and consequently the risk of freezing is significant.
