McDonald's expects a difficult year
The world's largest fast food restaurant chain expects a difficult year. Due to the economic uncertainty, consumers are buying less, and less people eat outside their homes.
Therefore, McDonald's has continued to reach lower sales figures in the crisis-torn Europe and in addition, the company is facing with a competition of small catering chains on the U.S. market.
In this year's second quarter, the Group's global sales grew only by 2.4 percent, and reached a revenue of 7.08 billion USD, so the increase was stronger than expected, but on the U.S. market, increase in turnover was only 1 percent. Analysts expected a 1.5 percent growth. (Világgazdaság Online)
