EU to invest €4m into harmonizing Russian, European sanitary standards
The 30-month project, to be conducted in cooperation with Russian authorities, will be launched June 20.
This is expected to help establish stronger economic ties
between the European Union and Russia. The project will cover work to bring Russia's
national sanitary and phytosanitary regulations into line with international
regulations and rules adopted by the World Trade Organization. The project will
also perfect assessment and product quality control; will upgrade the skills of
veterinary department personnel and inform the private sector of relevant
regulations.
