Retail sales in Slovenia have been falling for the fourth consecutive month
In Slovenia, the decrease in retail sales continued in May, both monthly and year-on-year, the statistical office announced on Wednesday. The largest decline was measured in fuel retail.
The decline in Slovenian retail sales continues for the fourth month. Compared to April, the decrease was 5.3 percent, and compared to the same period of the previous year, it was 13.4 percent.
Real turnover in fuel retail was 7.7 percent lower in May than in April. The volume of turnover in non-food retailing decreased by 1.4 percent, while it increased by 1.7 percent in mixed retailing of food and food.
In an annual comparison, the volume of fuel sales decreased the most, by 23.6 percent. The drop in non-food trade was 9.1 percent, and in food trade 3.6 percent.
In the first five months of this year, retail sales decreased by 4.7 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. Both food and non-food retail sales decreased by 5.1 percent, and fuel retail sales decreased by 4.3 percent.
