For the fourth year, Lidl Hungary supports the Heim Pál Pediatric Institute with food
For the fourth year in a row, Lidl Hungary supports the Heim Pál Pediatric Institute with food through its foundation in order to contribute to quality meals for sick children. This year, the department store chain not only extended it, but increased the HUF 78 million annual budget for support to nearly HUF 100 million.
As part of its support program, Lidl Hungary – in addition to helping needy Hungarian children and families – also takes domestic health care to heart, as a good example of which is that since 2019 it has been supporting the Heim Pál Pediatric Institute with food donations on a monthly basis. To date, the supermarket chain has provided HUF 260 million worth of donations to the children’s hospital, and over the past year, the funds earmarked for support included nearly 11 tons of fresh meat, nearly 6.5 tons of fresh vegetables and fruits, 2.6 tons of cheese, 3,700 pieces of baby food , delivered 5.2 tons of cold cuts and about 7.5 tons of dry pasta.
“It is extremely important for our company to cooperate with partners through whom we can really provide help and create value in the long term. Our food donations provided to the Pál Heim Pediatric Institute contributed significantly to the establishment and long-term maintenance of quality meals for sick children and their companions. From June 2023, we have therefore increased the annual budget for support from the previous 78 million forints to nearly 100 million forints, so that children in the hospital can continue to receive the best care.”
– pointed out Judit Tőzsér, head of corporate communications at Lidl Hungary.
