Nielsen: the number of restaurants declines for the fourth year

The number of restaurants declines for the fourth year, even only slightly. According to the new census of the Nielsen market research company, a total of 34,393 catering businesses are operating in Hungary, 1 percent less than the previous year's 34,855 units. In particular, the market researchers personally assessed the 20,221 places where food and drinks are served at cities with more than 10 thousand inhabitants.

The census is useful in cities with more than 10 thousand inhabitants for all those who are looking for new business opportunities – said Osztoics Bernadett, Nielsen’s Client Service Director. – The detailed datas of Nielsen help the market participants to expand their customer range and to increase volumes. The list of outlets includes among other things, the name of the units, their address, size and location, a description and menu range.
