A quarter less champagne consumed than five years ago
Nowadays, about 30 million bottles of champagne is consumed by the Hungarians annually, it is about a quarter less than five years ago. A total of 225 thousand hectoliters of champagne sold in Hungary annually – told the National Council of Wine Communities (HNT), to MTI.
In Hungary each year about 180 to 200 thousand hectoliters of champagne is prepared. Slightly more than 45 thousand hectoliters of this amount was exported, primarily to the Nordic countries and to the Baltic States. The legal import last year was more than 24 thousand hectoliters – reports szabadfold.hu.
