Nébih: the distributor recalled turmeric powder due to unauthorized pesticide residues
Asian Home Kft. recalled the 100-gram Turmeric powder Haldi turmeric powder from the market due to unauthorized pesticide residues (chlorpyrifos), the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) pointed out in a statement sent to MTI on Wednesday.
The shelf life of the product affected by the recall is February 28, 2024. The authority requests that the withdrawn product not be consumed, the product can be returned to the place of purchase, and the price will be refunded, Nébih said.
According to the information published on Nébih’s website, chlorpyrifos is an insecticide active agent belonging to organophosphoric acid esters, which was previously used in many cultures to control insect pests, as well as to treat stored cereals and empty warehouses. In addition to pests, the product is also very harmful to beneficial insects.
