Nébih: Hungary regained its avian influenza classification
According to the regulations of the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), Hungary regained its avian influenza-free status on September 8, after recognizing the favorable status for the whole country, third-country markets can reopen to shipments of live poultry and poultry products to Hungary, the Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) told MTI on Thursday.
In the counties affected by the March outbreak, the mandatory pre-shipment screening will be abolished from 14 September, but in order to avoid another outbreak, the resettlement of farms can still only take place under strict control, they wrote. (MTI)
