Nébih: a flock of ducks in Hajdú-Bihar county were slaughtered due to bird flu
Due to avian influenza, experts are destroying a flock of 42,000 ducks in Balmazújváros, Hajdú-Bihar County, the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) said on its website on Wednesday.
According to the announcement, more ducks than usual died in the poultry flock in Balmazújváros, based on which the workers of the farm concluded that avian influenza had appeared. The suspicion was also confirmed by laboratory tests by Nébih. The death of the animals was caused by the H5N1 subtype of the virus. (MTI)
