Nébih: Edco Magyarország Kft. recalled kitchen appliances
Due to the release of dangerous compounds, the distributor Edco Magyarország Kft. recalled Alpina brand kitchen appliances from the stores, the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) told MTI.
Nébih asks customers not to use products that match the identification data published on its website. Edco Magyarország Kft. informed its customers about the recall on its website, among the products there are several types of ladles, ladles, potato mashers and spatulas. The products can be returned to the place of purchase, goods will be refunded – they wrote.
So-called primary aromatic amines (PAA) can be released from the products. The simplest primary aromatic amine is phenylamine, also known as aniline. Certain types of amines are used in the production of plastics and paints. PAAs can get into food from materials that come into contact with them, even from the ink used to label paper packaging materials. Some of the compounds are carcinogenic, and some of them are presumably carcinogenic, but at the same time, in the case of several PAA compounds, there were no concerns about carcinogenic effects – informed the Nébih.
