Nébih: few mistakes in summer camps
Compared to the number of inspections, the food chain safety specialists of the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) discovered few errors during the inspection covering the summer camps: minor deficiencies were found in six cases, and fines in the amount of one million forints were imposed.
According to the authority’s announcement sent to MTI on Tuesday, the two-week inspection period covered 155 locations and summer camps catering for 6,288 people. In addition to the camps’ own kitchens, the suppliers’ restaurants and kitchens were also inspected.
Compared to the large number of inspections, the number of errors discovered was small, they were typically caused by hygiene deficiencies, and the camp operators immediately took measures to improve them in all cases, they said.
As in previous years, the most common problems were the lack of a valid health book for employees (5.8 percent), as well as inadequate personal hygiene, while dishwashing with an antiseptic effect was not resolved in 6.5 percent of the inspections.
